PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for quickly synthesizing 1,4-bis(dichloromethyl)tetrafluorobenzene (DCMTFB) in a high yield, suitable for mass production.
SOLUTION: The synthesis of 1,4-bis(dichloromethyl)tetrafluorobenzene by addition of formamide as a catalyst is achieved by reacting tetrafluoroterephthalaldehyde with SOCl2in an organic solvent and has remarkable advantages such as shortening of reaction time, simplification of synthesis process, improvement in yield of product, etc.
