專利摘要：
PURPOSE: To provide the magnetic card reader capable of preventing reading and writing defects of magnetic information by applying a pad pressure to a magnetic card traveling within a card passage by magnetic heads varying in the positions of fulcra.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic heads 6, 7 disposed to face each other on both sides of a card passage 5 are disposed and supported in a card traveling direction A together with the fulcra 13B of supporting plates 8, 9 on the discrete supporting plates 8, 9 extending in the traveling direction of the card A and the fulcra 13B are arranged on the opposite side of the passage 5 relative to the heads 6, 7. The head 6 oscillates by overcoming the energizing force of a leaf spring 17 around the fulcrum 13B of the supporting plate 8 without the approximate movement of the head 7 when the magnetic head 14 is inserted into the passage 5 of the magnetic card reader constituted in such a manner and travels and exists between the heads 6 and 7. A proper pressing pressure is applied to the card 14, by which the card squeaking by oscillation of the magnetic heads and the magnetic card is prevented. Then, the magnetic card reader which prevents the reading and writing defect of the magnetic information by the card squeaking is obtd.
