Suitable constitutive equations are utilized in this study to evaluate the effects of viscosity difference and elasticity mismatch between two polymers on the formation of hollow fibers and to recommend the best configurations of polymer pairs. The result indicates the deflection of melt streams, the dog legging phenomenon, under the spinneret are a major controlling factor on bridging the gap between arc segments. Aside from the deflection, the die swelling under the spinneret is another concern of a successful processing for hollow fibers in this study. |
